MOROCCO

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

How can a place awaken nearly every sense within you? The colors. The textures. The tastes.Morocco did exactly that.

After creating the set design at the special La Kahina, our burning man fundraiser outside of Marrakech, I ventured into the mountains of Morocco alongside two dear friends & my (now) partner. Our very first date somehow turned into a 36-hour adventure that led us all the way to the Sahara Desert.

Together, we wandered through ancient ruins, explored forgotten places & followed winding roads that seemed to lead us further back in time. Together, we wandered through ancient ruins, explored forgotten places & followed winding roads that seemed to lead us further back in time.

Walking among those ruins felt like uncovering a forgotten part of myself. Something that had been quietly waiting, patient & still, to be remembered.

The winding souks. The weathered walls. The crumbling remains of another time. Dusty clay pots, shattered & softened by centuries of sun and earth.

There was something about it all that felt strangely familiar.

A feeling I couldn't quite explain, only recognize.

I've been here before.

And somewhere between those winding streets, ancient treasures & unexpected encounters, something began to take shape.

What I didn't know then was that Morocco would become the birthplace of Tala. A love for objects with stories, for adornments that had traveled through generations, for the beauty of things that had already lived a thousand lives.

And perhaps the most unexpected gift of all, it was also where the love story with my partner truly began.

What I thought would be a journey through a foreign land became something far greater ~

A journey back to myself, the beginning of a love story, & the birth of an entirely new chapter.
